Bubble FLO® PEP Device
The Bubble FLO® PEP Device has been designed with the end user at the heart of every aspect: visually engaging, ease of use, ease of cleaning, dishwasher safe, non siphoning, optimum pressure resistance, interchangeable parts for hygiene and British manufactured, using high quality materials.
How Bubble PEP Therapy works:
After following the setup instructions, the user will be encouraged to sit up straight and blow into the mouthpiece of the Bubble FLO® PEP Device. Through blowing and making a fun spray of bubbles, a resistance is created; this applies a back pressure to the airways as you breathe out, allowing air to flow and circulate all the way around the lungs, especially to the base and behind any secretions, where it is hardest to clear. The resistance from blowing the bubbles creates a vibration in the lungs which helps to loosen the secretion.
Example of a physiotherapy session:
- 15 steady blows into the Bubble FLO® PEP Device.
- Place tubing into holder at the top of device
- 10 Huffs (forced expiration technique, taught by your physiotherapist)
- Repeat Blows and Huff sets 3 times.
- Complete session with some clearance coughs.
- Encourage your child to cough out the secretions, rather than swallow them.
