I'll be honest - when I started Bubble FLO®️, I had no idea what I was doing.
I wasn't a businessperson, I was a mum. A mum who was frustrated watching her daughter struggle with respiratory physiotherapy equipment that wasn't designed with children in mind. The equipment worked perfectly well clinically, but getting her to engage with and use it every day? That was the real challenge. So I did what probably seemed ridiculous to most people - I decided to create something better myself.
And that's the thing about small businesses. Often born from frustration, from seeing a problem and thinking "surely there's a better way?". We're not always the most qualified people in the room. But we care enough to try.
And that's exactly why supporting small businesses matters so much.
When you buy from a small business, you're not just getting a product. You're backing someone's belief that they can make things better. You're funding the late nights, the constant pivoting, the research that happens because we genuinely want to help - not because a board demanded it.
You're also getting something big corporations often can't offer: we listen.
When a parent emails me about their experience with Bubble FLO®️, I read it. When someone has feedback, it directly influences what we do next. There are no layers of management between your voice and action.
This Small Business Saturday, we're running offers to help more families and medical professionals access our devices because we understand how expensive managing chronic conditions can be. But honestly, what I really want to say is this:
Find a small business today, any small business, and support them. It doesn't have to be us. Choose someone who resonates with you, who's taken a risk to solve a problem they care about.
Because every time you do, you're not just buying something. You're telling someone their dream matters. And trust me, as a small business owner, that means absolutely everything.
Katie
